It is a seventh league win for Phoenix who close the gap in the hunt for the Play-Offs having also beaten Esh Group Eagles Newcastle on the road, on Friday.

There were no early signs of fatigue as the hosts raced into a double-digit advantage at the end of the first quarter before extending their lead to 12 points at the half-time break.

Sheffield - who also won on Friday - edged a high-scoring third period having been down as many as 20 points at 75-55 before a strong finish.

The Sharks were within single figures at 82-73 but an 8-0 run from the home side finished off any hope of a comeback.

Malcolm Riley had 24 points for the visitors.
