PATIENTS should think now about repeat prescriptions as the succession of bank holidays approaches, NHS Sheffield has warned.
Most GP practices in Sheffield will be open normal practice hours in the run-up to Easter but will close on the bank holidays April 22 and 25. Practices will also be closed on Friday, April 29 for the Royal wedding and again on Monday, May 2.
Individual practices will inform patients if special arrangements are needed to pick up prescriptions early prior to bank holidays.
To speak to a doctor out-of-hours patients should call their GP practice to be connected to an out-of hours service, which offers over-the-phone advice, or if appropriate urgent appointments or home visits. NHS Direct can also be contacted on 0845 46 47.
