Cheaper bus travel for Sheffield apprentices
The company has changed its ticket prices and apprentices can now travel for £7 per week by bus, providing a weekly saving of £6.
Bosses lowered the price for apprentices following a plea from local colleges to make travel more affordable.

Hide AdAllan Riggall, Head of Commercial at First South Yorkshire, said: “We understand that when you’re training as an apprentice, you’re likely to be earning your first wage, and you often have to make your money go a long way.
"We therefore wanted to help out by offering apprentices the same ticket options as students in the city. That way, apprentices, who need to travel by bus for work each day, have a bit more money back in their pocket each week!”
Amy Smith, President of Sheffield College Students’ Union, said: “This is a great decision that will really benefit apprentices across the city. Travel can be one of the biggest barriers to education and so we welcome this price drop for apprentices.”
Apprentices have to show a valid apprentice card when buying tickets.
