FIFTY homes in Maltby have undergone a free energy saving improvement scheme.
The work was carried out over 10 weeks and the properties are expected to benefit from more warmth and lower utility bills.
Discussions are underway on the potential for hundreds more homes to undergo the work as part of a Government scheme.
The original initiative was part of a countrywide scheme known as the Community Energy Savings Programme, where householders were encouraged to adopt energy savings measures in order to use less energy and reduce their bills. Introduced to Maltby by energy efficiency specialists Energy Alliance, working in partnership with Greystones Estates, South Yorkshire Housing Association and Rotherham Council, the project was free to all participating households.
