The British Heart Foundation is calling on everyone in Doncaster to get in the Christmas spirit and join in their festive Chase the Pud fundraiser next month - to help raise money to fund life-saving research.

The 1.5 mile course, around Doncaster Lakeside, can be ran, jogged or walked around on Sunday December 4, as family and friends don Santa costumes and pursue the pud.

According to recent statistics, there are aroun 38,780 people living in Doncaster with heart and circulatory disease. The money raised from Chase the Pud will help fund ground-breaking research to find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat these devastating conditions.

David Trotter, BHF event organiser for the Bawtry & Doncaster branch, said: “When you think of Christmas pudding, you probably don’t think about running after one, but Chase the Pud is a great way to work up an appetite for the festive period!

“It’s always a really fun event to get people warmed up for the Christmas season whilst raising money to help us fund even more ground-breaking discoveries into heart and circulatory disease.”

Chase the Pud is suitable for all ages and the route is accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs and can be finished at the participant’s own pace.
