Karl Robinson, previously of MK Dons, was appointed Charlton Athletic manager yesterday. The 36-year-old will be hoping to make an immediate impact against Sheffield United despite not officially taking charge until Monday morning.

Sheffield United won 2-0 when these two clubs last met. Goals from John Brayford (pictured) and Ryan Flynn saw the hosts reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup at Charlton Athletic’s expense in front of a 30,048 crowd at Bramall Lane. United’s last visit to The Valley, in January 2012, ended in a 1-0 defeat. Earlier that season, Charlton had also triumphed 2-0 in South Yorkshire. Those victories ended a run of three straight losses against United. Both teams enter tomorrow’s match in strong form with Charlton searching for a third straight League One win and Chris Wilder’s side hoping to extend their unbeaten run in the competition to 15 games. Although Charlton appointed Karl Robinson as their new manager yesterday, he will not officially take charge until Monday morning.

Graham Scott: The Oxfordshire based official, who replaced Chris Foy on the Select Group last year, has spent the majority of his season overseeing Football League matches. Scott, who averages 3.45 cautions per game so far this term, has sent-off just one player since August. That red card was awarded to Gillingham’s Ryan Jackson.
