SUPPORT services for vulnerable children are being taken over by a charity.
Barnsley Council has decided to award its contract to Family Action Barnsley, to ‘support the emotional health and wellbeing of children in care’ and provide therapeutic support for children suffering bereavement and loss.
The initial contract will last 12 months but there is an option to extend it for a further 12 months.
The council has also decided to increase rents charged to business and youth enterprise centres.
The rise will be three per cent, below the 3.5 per cent CPI rate of inflation.
