Charity success at pets retailer

Have your say

STAFF at Pets at Home in Heeley are celebrating after playing their part in raising more than £76,000 in just one week for the charity Support Adoption For Pets.

The money will be used to help the rehoming of pets and support animal welfare organisations across the UK.

Support Adoption For Pets’ national fundraising drive ran from Fridays, October 14 to 21, and saw store teams hold pet adoption workshops and a nationwide raffle, along with other activities to raise awareness and funds for deserving animal welfare organisations.

Ben Horne, Heeley store manager, said: “We’ve been holding our national fundraising weeks twice a year for the past couple of years, as they’ve proven to be a great way to increase awareness of pet adoption and raise money for Support Adoption For Pets.

“Nationally, this is the biggest amount we’ve raised to date so we’re thrilled with the response from our customers and I’d like to thank them for their generosity.

“The money will be used to support local rescues and re-homing centres.”
