Charity shop raises £100k in a year for South Yorkshire children’s hospice

The Market Street-based shop, which raises money for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, supports children with life limiting conditions.

Sue Smith, Chapeltown Shop Manager, said: “It’s been such a fantastic and exciting year.

“The community members of Chapeltown are so supportive; whether they are donating items of buying from our shop, they have really made our first year a success and so a real difference to our charity.”

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in North Aston is currently supporting around 250 families.

It costs £3 million for the hospice to keep its doors open.

James Bower, Head of Retail at Bluebell Wood, said: “It’s been a tremendous year and I’d like to thank the customers, volunteers and staff.”
