More than £20,000 was raised for Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity’s Make it Better appeal at a glitzy ball.

More than 200 charity supporters united at the 24th annual Daffodil Ball at Baldwin’s Omega, Brincliffe Hall.

Businessman David Fyfe, who hosted the event on Saturday with his wife, Jean, said: “As ever guests have given outstanding amounts in our silent auction and grand auction and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their support and generosity.

“I know how much the money raised will make a difference to the lives of young patients and their families.”

Since the first event in 1990, the Daffodil Ball has raised almost £950,000 for charity.
