Charity fund is well in the bag

A NEW fundraising effort by Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice is already being hailed a success just a month after it was launched.

The ‘Bag It Up’ initiative involves people taking bags of unwanted items - clothes, jewellery, toys, music and books - to Rotherham’s Parkgate Shopping Centre. The monthly collections are now yielding twice the predicted number of bags - boosting the hospice’s bank balance.

Hospice spokesman Peter Bradley said: “We are especially delighted with the quality of the contents of the bags.”

Bags can be taken on the first Wednesday of each month. The next one is Wednesday October 3.
