Charity event raises funds for Palestinians affected by Israeli bombing

A local community held a successful charity event over the weekend to raise funds for the people in Palestine following the recent Israeli attacks.

The event took place outside the Kebabish takeaway in The Wicker, which also helped to support it.

There were numerous stalls selling food, with raffles and face painting.

Abdul Basit from Al Mustafa Trust also gave a speech.

“All money raised over the two-day event will go to Palestine to purchase food, medicine, and for homes, and schools,” said Hasnain Khan, one of the event organisers.

The event raised £2,700 to support families affected by the bombing from Israeli forces, which started May 9 and continued over an eight-day period.

Mohammed Munir Ahmed from the Al Mustafa Trust, based in Kimberworth, put out an emergency appeal and have aid workers in Gaza.

The event was organised by Hasnain Mlik and Ayub Yaqoob with the help of Sarah Rauf, Zubaidah Rauf, Lubna Rahman, Maryam Khan, QudsiyahZahoor and Murtaza Zahoor.
