A charity event raised more than £3,500 to support the re-homing of retired greyhounds in Sheffield.

Hundreds of people attended the event at Owlerton Greyhound Stadium in aid of the Retired Greyhound Trust, which has found new homes for more than 1,750 retired greyhounds since 2006.

John Gilburn, managing director of Owlerton Greyhound Stadium, said: “We are thrilled that more than £3,000 has been raised. We are committed to ensuring that all the dogs have the best possible life once they retire from racing.”
