Charity call for Sheffield festival

Charities are invited to be involved with the next Broomfill Festival, after June’s event raised hundreds of pounds.

The 40th festival collected £1,750 for four different charities including Roundabout, Churches Together in Broomhill and Broomhall, Sheena Amos Youth Trust and The Music Academy.

Another £1,750 will go into a community fund open to local charities and organisations.

Chairman Alan Wellings said planning for next year’s festival, between June 5 and 21, had already begun.

He said: “One of the first tasks is to invite applications from local charities which would like to benefit from the funds generated by the next festival.”
