Charity appeals for pet helpers

Have your say

ANIMAL lovers are being urged to lend a hand to help elderly and terminally ill people to look after their pets.

National charity The Cinnamon Trust is appealing for volunteers in the Sheffield area.

A spokeswoman said: “Volunteers help to keep owners and pets together either by walking a dog for a housebound owner, fostering pets when the owners need hospital care and even cleaning out a bird cage.

“Unfortunately, we have a shortage of volunteers in Sheffield.

“We particularly need volunteers able to offer walks for two people’s much-loved dogs – a lovely 13-year-old labrador and a cute, little two-year -old pug.”
