Channel is a God send for Britain

Have your say

Not too many months ago I recall German citizens standing with their arms open, brandishing bowls of fruit and sweets to all the refugees arriving from all over Europe, France and Germany welcoming all.

Now just a few weeks later, after the attacks in France how do they feel?

Suddenly, discussions are under way to close all borders, after all and sundry have been allowed to drive all the way from eastern Europe to God knows where, with bootloads of whatever they want.

The British government has always refused to enter into this open border policy and long may it continue.

The little strip of water between ourselves and France is surely a God send.
