Old landmarks like the Hole in the Road and the Town Hall's 'egg-box' council offices have been swept away to make was for the city's modern new look.

In the first of a new series, the star.co.uk reflects the dramatic changes that have taken place around the Peace Gardens as part of the Heart of the City project.
