Shoppers in Sheffield are set to benefit from changes to a city bus service which is being re-routed to serve the new The Moor Market.

Stagecoach’s 123 service, which runs between Holbrook and Waterthorpe, will stop on Eyre Street.

The service will operate via Granville Road, St Mary’s Road and Eyre Street, returning via Arundel Gate, Haymarket, Flat Street, Sheffield Interchange and Granville Road.

John Young, acting commercial director for Stagecoach Yorkshire, said: “Whenever we make changes to our services, they are based on feedback from our customers.

“A significant number of passengers were in favour of us serving The Moor, so we are delighted to be able to alter the route of the 123, so passengers can easily access the fantastic new market.”

Other changes being introduced by Stagecoach include re-routing the 83A and 88 in the city centre between Wicker and Bank Street, travelling via Blonk Street, Castlegate, Bridge Street and Snig Hill.

The timetable changes come into effect from Sunday, April 27.
