The indication from Sheffield Wednesday is that there will be more outgoings than incoming players as they continue to trim their squad.

Jos Luhukay has previously admitted that he wanted to reduce the number of players available to him for the upcoming season and Owls 'keeper Cameron Dawson agrees with the policy.

He told the Star that he thought it was "important" that the squad was smaller than in previous campaigns. Wednesday fans could be waiting for a new signing for a bit longer.

At Sheffield United, Chris Wilder looks set to miss out on Martyn Waghorn after sticking to his guns on what he is prepared to spend.

Wilder does not want to be drawn into a bidding war for Waghorn, who is also wanted by Derby County.

United's limit is said to be £5million, after they splashed over £4million on defender John Egan.
