Cemetery’s garden plans

Have your say

Bawtry town councillors met local undertaker John Pinder to discuss plans for a new remembrance garden at the Station Road cemetery.

Recommendations that were put forward following the meeting included a suggestion that empty holes in flowerbeds were to be filled with coloured chippings until needed and, in the early stages of development, cremation ashes could be interred alternately so the area does not appear cramped.

Bushes are to be planted in the gap at the left hand side leading through to the road to create a sense of serenity and prevent a walk-through route.

The full council approved the recommendations of the cemetery and allotments committee and John Goodall Gardening Services has been asked to carry out the necessary work.
