The Salford-born comic was the special guest at the Last Laugh comedy club at Sheffield City Hall.

He headlined an evening that also featured Toby Foster, Phil Chapman and Luke Toulson, before heading into the city for dinner - after asking his 239,000 Twitter followers for a recommendation.

Chris Fox from Last Laugh said: "The Last Laugh was delighted last night to be playing host to a special guest headline act.

"In 25 years of the Sheffield comedy club's operations many comedians have moved on from being new faces, to become club favourites and for many TV and household names.

"It is always nice when one of those names and faces has the time to come back and give our weekend audiences at the memorial hall gig a special treat.

"Jason is very busy at the moment with new projects including more television and a stand up tour, so getting back to face a live audience is always great for the acts and the crowd.

"The last laugh is also hosting its comedy festival again in October and who knows, if any more of those bigger acts may decide to pop into the weekend club one night.

"The audience loved the whole show on Saturday night."

The Last Laugh takes place every Saturday at the City Hall and every Thursday at The Lescar. For upcoming shows visit lastlaughcomedy.com.
