Avid Blades fan Charlie Webster lived up to her club’s Strength Through Adversity motto – risking losing her right leg to finish her charity challenge.
The Sky Sports presenter completed a 10-hour ultra marathon in South Yorkshire on Wednesday while battling the onset of compartment syndrome – a limb-threatening condition caused by a lack of blood supply to the affected area.
Charlie, who is running 250 miles in seven days in support of domestic violence charity Women’s Aid, said: “My foot was giving me a lot of pain but I battled through because I was really happy to be in South Yorkshire. I’m feeling positive.”
Charlie visited Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster and Sheffield Wednesday football clubs before ending at Bramall Lane and getting medical help. Sponsor her at www.justgiving.com/charliesbigchallenge
