DEPUTY Prime Minister Nick Clegg and civic dignitaries gathered to celebrate the restoration of a valuable part of Sheffield’s rich industrial heritage.

He helped unveil the Shepherd Wheel with Lord Mayor, Coun Sylvia Dunkley, Master Cutler Pam Liversidge, Fiona Spears, from the Lottery Heritage Fund, Coun Isobel Bowler and Ann le Sage of the Friends of Porter Valley.

After the relaunch, an open day was held where the public could see how the wheel had been brought back to life.

There was also entertainment from the University of Sheffield Drama Society and Sheffield Young Singers Choir.

The Shepherd Wheel has been completely renovated to working order.
