Detectives have released CCTV of a man they are tracing in connection with disorder before a Steel City derby. Â

A group of about 12 people were involved in trouble on John Street near Bramall Lane before the Sheffield United v Sheffield Wednesday match on the evening of Friday, January 12. 

In a statement, South Yorkshire Police said: 'It is understood that those involved punched and kicked one another, though no injuries were reported to police and no complainants have come forward.

'The group was dispersed by officers and two men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of  assault and affray.

'They have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.'

Officers have now released CCTV of a man they believe 'could help with enquries.' 

The force statement added: 'Officers believe the man pictured could hold vital information and are urging anyone who recognises him, or witnessed the incident, to get in touch.
