CCTV APPEAL: Hunt for man after thief stole 78-year-old woman's bag and used bank card

An appeal has been launched after a 78-year-old woman had her bag stolen - and police believe the thief has been using her stolen card.

At just before 3pm on Monday, June 13, a 78-year-old woman was walking along a footpath behind McDonalds towards Drakehouse Retail Park when she felt a nudge against her right arm.

The lady felt her bag being pulled from her and turned round to see a man run off in the direction of KFC.

Two members of the public chased the man through the retail park but were unable to catch him.

One of the victim’s bank cards has been used several times in the Ecclesfield area and police have today released a CCTV image of a man believed to be using the stolen card.

He is described as white, around 5ft 9ins and with a pale complexion.
