Casualty taken to hospital after a collision in Sheffield between two vehicles

A casualty had to be taken to hospital for treatement and checks after a road traffic collision between two vehicles.

The collision happened on Meadowhall Way, near Meadowhall Road, in Sheffield, about 8pm, last night, Saturday, January 18, between two vehicles.

A South Yorkshire fire service station spokesman confirmed that emergency services had to be called out to the two-vehicle road traffic collision including firefighters, police and an ambulance.

The spokesman stated that two cars were involved in the collision and one person had to be taken to hospital by ambulance for checks but they were not thought to have been seriously injured.

South Yorkshire fire service’s Elm Lane station attended the incident and witnesses reported that many emergency service vehicles were also in attendance to deal with the road traffic collision.

Witness reports also claimed that part of the road was temporarily blocked-off for other motorists near traffic lights as emergency services dealt with the incident.
