A DONCASTER pie firm is hoping to raise a generous slice of cash for a high-profile charity.
The Topping Pie Company has adopted the British Heart Foundation as its charity of the year partner, and hopes to raise £10,000 for the organisation.
It will be working with the charity’s Bawtry branch on fundraising.
The first event to raise cash is planned to be a charity bike ride.
Topping’s managing director Roger Topping said the firm wanted to raise cash for charity to mark its 50th anniversary this year.
He said: “We are looking forward to raising a big slice of cash for the charity’s work in the local area during our partnership year and at the same time encouraging our employees to look after their own heart health.”
Toppings employs 50 people at its Doncaster factory and supplies pies to firms including Harvey Nichols and Asda.
