Cash award to ease plight ofcity's young homeless

Young homeless people will have free access to a warm bed, shower and evening meal thanks to a £200,000 award.

The money was awarded to Depaul UK as part of a £5.1 million giveaway at a People’s Postcode Lottery gala in Edinburgh last night – and they were also awarded a surprise extra £25,000.

The funds will help operate a ‘Nightstop’ service in Sheffield, which will provide emergency accommodation to youngsters in danger of homelessness – the first service of its kind in the city.
