Cars left damaged as vandals strike

TWO cars were badly damaged by thieves who tried to break into them at the car park at Dodworth railway station.

British Transport Police say so much damage was caused that one vehicle was “unroadworthy” when its owner returned.

A spokesman said: “Two motor vehicles in the car park were badly damaged in an apparent attempt to either steal items from the vehicles or the vehicles themselves.

“A considerable amount of damage has been done to the vehicles, one in particularly, so much so it has been rendered unroadworthy.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have been passing through the station at the time of the incident, to contact us in strict confidence.”

Anyone with information about the break-ins, at around 3pm last Wednesday, should call freefone 0800 40 50 40 quoting incident number 298 of September 5, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
