A SHEFFIELD nursing home has officially reopened following a refurbishment.

Abbey Grange near the Northern General Hospital in Firth Park was bought out of administration in November 2010 by Country Court Care.

The Grade 2 listed building provides elderly, residential, nursing and dementia care and now has 16 en-suite bedrooms and new communal areas.

Abdul Kachra, who is the chief executive of the Country Court Care Group, said: “We are delighted to have fully opened Abbey Grange after the extensive refurbishment work we have carried out to bring the home up to date.”

Ian Brown, from Santander, which helped finance the buyout said: “It’s great to see Abbey Grange restored to its former glory, providing quality care for residents.”
