AFTER 15 months of delays, insurance firm Churchill agreed to write off Louise Hoey’s car, thanks to Action Desk – but then the firm gave her one week to find a new one.
Louise, aged 31, of Totley, drove a hire car for more than a year after mechanics tried and failed to fix her Astra 11 times following a shunt.
Churchill finally wrote it off and paid her £4,000 after pressure from The Star, but then demanded the hire car back within a week.
Louise, who is eight months pregnant, said: “My husband works full time, one week is too tight a deadline to find, test drive and buy a car.”
A CHURCHILL spokeswoman said Louise could have the hire car until December 17.
She said: “In view of Mrs Hoey’s pregnancy and the inconvenience we’re happy to extend the hire car for a further two weeks.”
