Police said the two men met up by chance and had an argument in Wharf Street. Both then drove off in their cars one in a white Ford Fiesta the other in a blue Audi.

But later that day the Fiesta was rammed when the Audi reversed into it on Bawtry High Street.

Police said more vehicles arrived and chased the Fiesta driver who eventually got out of his car and fled on foot.

He lept into a stranger's white car and demanded to be driven away but when the stranger refused, he ran away eventually taking refuge in a shop.

Police say there were a number of white males involved, aged between 25 to 40 years, and one may have been bare chested.

Two men were arrested at the scene.

Police want to speak to any witnesses including the driver of the white car, who was not involved in the incident.
