FIRE crews called out to tackle a blaze in a marina were faced with a vehicle of a different kind when they arrived.
Officers from Thorne fire station found a car engulfed in flames when they arrived to tackle the incident at Stanilands Marina, Thorne.
Crews received the call to the Lock Lane boatyard on Friday, shortly before 6.15am.
When they arrived they discovered the vehicle was well alight on a patch of wasteground.
As the vehicle was nowhere near any homes of businesses, officers allowed the fire to burn out on its own before damping down at the scene.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue said the car had been dumped and set alight deliberately and was so badly damaged it was impossible to establish the make and model.
