A SHEFFIELD car enthusiast will be digging out the elbow grease when he prepares his vehicle for a classic car show in Birmingham.
Stuart Heslington has made it to the finals of the Footman James Classic Motor Show with his 1949 Oldsmobile Rocket 88 coupe in the Car of the Year category.
In August, Stuart scooped a prize in the Classic American Magazine Car of the Year competition at the Stars and Stripes Show at Tatton Park, Cheshire.
He said: “I’ve always been a fan of American cars from when I was a child and having previously owned a Mustang I wanted something that would stand out from the crowd and the Oldsmobile certainly does.
“Having the car on display and being part of the Classic Motor Show will be a great experience.”
His Oldsmobile will be on display at Birmingham’s NEC from Friday, November 11, to Sunday, November 13.
It will form part of the Classic American Magazine display with other regional heat winners before being judged for the overall Car of the Year award.
