South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service has released details of some of its weekend jobs – which included a series of vehicle fires.

An Audi was set alight on York Lane in Morthen, Rotherham on Friday at around 8pm. Maltby firefighters tackled it.

Candles too close to some blinds started a living room fire on Westwood Avenue in Sheffield at around 11pm on Friday. Rivelin, Central and Elm Lane firefighters spent half an hour responding to the incident.

A man was inside the house at the time, but was unharmed.

A carpet caught fire on Nutwell Lane in Armthorpe. Doncaster firefighters dealt with the incident just before 11am on Saturday. It was caused by discarded cigarettes. No one was hurt.

A Ford Ka was set alight on Shirehall Crescent in Sheffield at around 11am on Saturday. It was dealt with by Elm Lane firefighters.

Edlington firefighters put out a fire involving a 4×4 car on Arden Gate, Balby just before 5am on Sunday. It was started deliberately.
