Cancer charity seeks helpers

Residents of the Hope Valley are being sought to help raise funds for a cancer charity.

Marie Curie Cancer Care’s South Yorkshire community fundraising office needs help looking after collecting tins in the area.

Helpers will be given a full kit along with a list of shops, pubs, cafes and other small local businesses who have already offered to display a tin.

The role involves emptying the tins every couple of months, counting and banking the money raised and completing the necessary paperwork.

Volunteers are also asked to find new shops and businesses willing to take on collecting tins.

The charity is aiming to collect £12,500 from its collecting tins in the region this year.

n Anyone who can offer help is asked to call Liz Howlett on 0114 279 3010.
