Cancer charity night in memory of Bowie

A Rotherham bar and restaurant is hosting a charity night next month to raise funds and awareness for World Cancer Day.

The Let’s Beat Cancer event, hosted by The Thirsty Flame Bar & Grill in Brinsworth on February 4, will celebrate the music of the late David Bowie - who sadly lost his battle to liver cancer on January 10.

The highlight of the event will be a performance from David Bowie tribute artist Paul ‘Idol Eyes’ Brian.

There will be other musical performances on the night from country singer Ryan Cosford and Stevie V’s Rock n Roll Show. The venue will also be hosting a disco, karaoke, music quiz and raffles, with all proceeds from the evening going to Cancer Research UK.

Organiser Steve Parker-Wilson said: “We want to celebrate the legend of Bowie while raising as much money as possible for this incredibly worthy cause.

“We hope people will come along to support this charity event on World Cancer Day and give generously on the evening.”

The charity night will kick off at 8pm.
