When the rink was under threat, a fierce campaign was fought to ward off its closure.
The ice rink is officially declared open in the 1960s.
A packed out Silver Blades in the 1990s.
In its later days, the name Silver Blades was dropped in favour of Sheffield Ice Rink.

The rink attracted skaters of all ages during its heyday.
