A friendly Staffordshire Bull Terrier with the name of Donk is looking for a new home.
The cuddly canine is being cared for by staff at Sheffield Animal Centre in Attercliffe.
Staff at the centre describe Donk as a dog that loves people and is super friendly with a bubbly sort of character.
Fundraising and office administration officer, Lee Walston, said: “He has been known to be a little timid with some men, but soon comes round and gains in confidence.
“There is not much he dislikes. He is quite a laid back and well rounded character. He can be a bit unsure around other dogs after being badly bullied by another dog previously, so may require some confidence building in this area to help him learn that not all dogs are bad.”
She said he would love a home where he can be loved and spoilt by everyone and added: “He is a real ‘people’ dog and loves being around anyone who has a kind word and some fuss for him. Due to this he would love a home with owners who are around for most of the day to give him the company he adores.”
Due to his past, Donk may be happier as an only pet in the home while he rebuilds his confidence and trust around dogs.
The Sheffield Animal Centre is open daily, except Wednesday, from 12.30pm until 3.30pm and can be contacted on 0114 289 8050.
