HE’S had a sad start to his life but Marley the three-legged dog is hoping you can give his story a happy ending.
Marley was brought into RSPCA Sheffield Branch very underweight with a severe skin condition caused by lack of flea control and sore eyes.
But now this gentle flower is ready to find his forever home this spring.
Animal care manager Tony Benham said: “Marley is a sweet-natured, black and tan crossbreed who is about 10 years old.
“Given this sad start in life, we are desperate to find a great new home for this furry fellow so that he can start afresh.
“He will need ongoing drops for a dry eye, probably for life and we will support the new owners with this.
“Marley is a lovely boy who has shown no behavioural problems that we have noticed, though he isn’t a big fan of other dogs and so we would advise that he is not homed with other canine companions.
“This soft fellow likes to gently potter around and to have calm interactions with people.
“Marley needs his walks to be often, but short, because he only has three legs and he can tire easily.
“We’d advise an average of three lots of 20-minute walks a day to keep him mobile and agile.
“Marley is affectionate and really enjoys human company but if there are children in his new family, we would prefer them to be over the age of 10 as with his three legs he needs to be in a relatively tranquil environment.
