Can we move on please

I was hoping that the hysteria surrounding tree felling around the Rustlings Road area would have died down by now, but obviously it hasn't, so I thought I would add my two pennyworth.

There have been two court hearings, both of which found in favour of the city council.

I understand that the residents were informed of Amey’s plans in advance, both by letter and door knocking, I also am given to understand that warning notices were placed on the street asking people to ensure that their vehicles were removed by 7pm the previous evening.

How much notice do these people require?

Had they accepted the courts decision, none of these clandestine methods would need to have been employed saving Amey and South Yorkshire Police a lot of hassle and expense.

I live on the Shiregreen estate where pavements resurfaced four years ago are already being lifted by tree roots and in many places have had to be relaid.

The council will be replacing the felled trees with more suitable species, so can we please move on and concentrate on the more serious issues which are affecting our city such as child poverty and the reduction of services due to government cuts.
