Can be no city station here

Unlike Leeds, Manchester etc Sheffield can NEVER have a 'city centre station' due to its topography .

The proposed Victoria station location will be even more remote from the centre than the existing Midland station.

It would not be in walking distance of the city and would need a tram link.

The road access is very poor and major roadworks would be required – would these be paid for by HS2?

Previous comments about a viaduct being required for a station at Meadowhall would also apply for a station at Victoria, which would be approximately 10 metres above existing ground levels.
