Friends of Highfield Adventure Playground Group are holding a public meeting about council cuts to staff numbers.
The event is on Wednesday, from 6pm, at Madina Moque Community Centre, Wolseley Road. The public meeting is part of the group’s campaign to oppose the city council’s plan to withdraw staff from the adventure playground, close the community building to public access, and remove the front gates.
Kate West, co-chair of the Friends group, said: “The adventure playground is a vital asset for this area. It is a safe place for children and families, a place where our kids can run and play in safety after school.”
The public meeting is a chance for anyone concerned about the future of the playground to share opinions with the campaign group, councillors and council officers.
