A THEATRE production company in South Yorkshire has issued an urgent call for a trio of 1950s telephones for its Halloween production Little Shop Of Horrors.

The show opens at The Academy Theatre in Barnsley on Tuesday, October 23, and stars Coronation Street actress Rachel Leskovac in the role of the lovestruck heroine Audrey.

But director Lee Semley said: “We desperately need three 1950s Bakelite telephones for one of the big musical numbers.

“They are so expensive to buy new, so if anyone could help us out we would be extremely grateful.

“Time is running out so we are really desperate to find these phones.

“If anyone comes forward they can leave them at the theatre box office for me, with their name and contact details, and I will return them safely.”

Alternatively, email with information about the phone.
