Call for Isle entries to Humberside Police Rock Challenge

Enpowering young people to discover new skills through performing arts is the Humberside Police Rock Challenge, which opens for entries tomorrow.

From 6am on Wednesday September 10, schools will be able to register to take part in one of the region’s most dazzling, high energy performing arts competitions as Rock Challenge returns for 2015.

Humberside Police brought Rock Challenge to the region 17 years ago.

Rock Challenge continues to empower young people to discover new skills through performing arts, giving them a creative platform in which to shine at some of our region’s most prestigious venues.

The event builds confidence and resilience in young people to reduce the risk of harm and vulnerability, a big emphasis of Rock Challenge is to encourage young people to stay safe and feel safe, through healthy lifestyle messages.

The event offers schools and groups the ideal opportunity to explore current topical issues through their performances.

In 2015, a record breaking 51 schools took part in the six Humber events involving 2,988 young people.
