FURTHER discussions should take place between council officials and the developer behind controversial plans for 387 new homes in north Sheffield, David Blunkett has urged.
Sheffield-based housebuilder Gleeson was refused planning permission for the scheme on the old Parson Cross college site and neighbouring land because councillors felt the designs did not blend into the area.
Gleeson’s has said it will appeal.
Brightside and Hillsborough MP David Blunkett said: “I think it is really important for the regeneration of the area, for employment and for the enhancement of the environment that a suitable scheme is agreed. This will be important for the economy, for jobs and for the wellbeing of the wider community.”
