Buskers to bid for Sheffield prize

Have your say

THE centre of Sheffield will play host to a battle of the buskers today.

Fundraisers from city-based charity The Long Well Walk have organised a contest which will see aspiring local musicians and bands take to the streets to play acoustic sets from noon.

Performances will take place in Barker’s Pool and Tudor Square as 10 different acts battle it out for the top prize - precious time in the recording studio.

The event has been organised by Liam Garcia, founder of The Long Well Walk, an 8,000-mile hike from Sheffield to Cape Town next year to raise funds for building and maintaining water projects in communities in Africa.
