Buses diverted as large crowd gathers on streets in Sheffield suburb

Buses in a Sheffield suburb have been diverted this morning because of a large crowd of pedestrians gathered on the streets.

The crowd is reported to have gathered at the junction of Nottingham Street and Rock Street, Burngreave, leaving buses unable to get past.

Bus company First South Yorkshire said its 83, 95 and 95A services are affected.

The firm said: “We are currently diverting via Pitsmoor Road in both directions due to a large gathering of pedestrians on Rock Street/ Nottingham Street.”
