Buses diverted as Herries Road reported closed because of 'incident'

It is understood that British Transport Police have closed the road because of concerns over a person’s safety.

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service are not involved.

The bus operator First South Yorkshire this evening said that the incident meant that it was having to divert its buses on its 98 route this evening.

A spokesman said: “Due to an incident, Herries Rd/Herries Rd South is closed.”

"We will continue up Penistone Rd and turn onto Southey Green Rd (97 route) and back to normal route.”

“This is in both directions.”
