Bus loaned to transport firm

COMMUNITY groups in Rotherham can carry on using a minibus for trips and activities after the town’s mayor loaned it to a local transport company.

The 17-seat bus was donated by housing repairs firm Morrison last year, and now mayor Coun Rose McNeely has decided to loan the bus to Rotherham Community Transport, which will hire out the vehicle to local groups.

Coun McNeely said: “The minibus was such a marvellous gesture that I grabbed it with both hands - the icing on the cake has been just how much the bus has been used and will be used in the future.”

The bus will be used for social and recreational activities for children and elderly people.

Groups wanting to book the bus should call 01709 517 100.
